Eazy Dog Training in Sydney runs Dog Agility Classes for beginners in Sydney
You can start agility training at any age!
A common misunderstanding is that dogs need to be at least 9 months before they can train agility. It’s due protecting their bone development and so on. Wrong! There’s is plenty to learn before starting to practise obstacles. This is called ‘foundation training’ and it includes focussing on the owner, handling techniques, recall and circle work but obviously it’s all carried out on the flat.
After the vital foundation work the jumps are very gradually raised as the dogs mature.
Tunnels, A frames, dog walks and the weaves are introduced gradually. A patient, understanding and forward thinking dog trainer is crucial for your training.
A key part of dog agility is the Reward Structure.
The dogs are motivated by a combination of high rewards. Treats and tuggy toys are usually the best reward. They encourage the bond between dog and owner and helps with focus.

Eazy Dog Training in Sydney
Welcome to training your dog in a fun and rewarding way while making new friends!
Being a dog owner also means accepting a responsibility to train your dog manners. But a well-behaved dog does not happen overnight. It takes commitment, consistency and time, but is well worth the effort. Therefore an obedient dog is a valuable asset in your life, but most importantly a pleasure to be around. Dog training doesn’t only improve the bond between you and your dog. It also makes a huge difference to your dog’s behaviour and contributes to their social skills both at home and with other dogs outside.
