Dog Trainer Eastern Suburbs Sydney: Should You Take Your Dog to the Beach or Not?
Eazy Dog Training is your experienced dog trainer in Eastern Suburbs of Sydney
Many people love spending their summer days at the beach. Sun bathing and swimming can be a lot of fun, but is it something you should enjoy with your dog? Personally, and professionally, I would never ever take my dog to the beach with me knowing that I’ll be swimming and sun bathing for hours. Dog’s body gets rid of heat in a different way than we do. They lose heat only through their tongue and between their toes. That means that they maintain a higher body temperature and can get easily over heated during hot summer days. Heat stroke is a real risk for dogs during summer – and always very dangerous! So no, taking your dog to the beach with you especially if they don’t have free access to water (does your dog even like swimming?) is not a good idea at all.
Dog Beach For Dog Fun
If you want your dog to enjoy a day at the beach, take him to a dog friendly one. But remember that the hotter the day the better it is to avoid high temperatures. Go early in the morning or late in the evening. And make sure your dog swims to keep cool and have plenty of drinking water – for the both of you! And don’t stay for the whole day to prevent over heating. Stay in the shade when ever possible with your dog and remember the sand can get very hot!
