DOG AGILITY CLASS IN SYDNEY PARK ON SATURDAY MORNINGS – BOOK HERE
Agility is a dog sport in which dogs run through an obstacle course. The goal is to be as fast as possible and to make as little mistakes as possible. Dog agility class teaches a dog to be athletic, confident and it improves communication between dog and owner.
Agility Training Techniques:
- When starting agility training, it is important to begin with obstacles at low settings (or even on the ground) so that your dog can learn confidence and how to do them safely. Take your time building up confidence and learning the very basics. This is what we focus on in my dog agility class in Sydney.
- To direct your dog through the obstacle course, it is very important that you communicate effectively with your dog. This includes learning handling techniques such as crosses and useful cues such as ‘go’ and ‘here’. Technical training in agility might seem boring compared to running a course but is crucial for efficient training.
